Barcelona

It is unfortunate, but I have not been able to upload all of our pictures from our trip. So this post and the following posts are pictures that I took from my phone. If anyone wants to assist me with compatibility issues between Snow Leopard and our Canon digital camera, any suggestions are welcome.

Barcelona! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Barcelona, but we have to say that our dinner was the highlight of our stay. Once we got to the hotel after our mid-morning arrival, we immediately showered because we felt so yucky. As soon as we were clean, we decided to walk around and check out Gaudi's finest works. We first went to the Casa Milà and then we wandered on down to the Sagrada Familia. This church is AMAZING. It is heavily under construction and will not be complete until 2030. I would love to go back when it is complete. We have wonderful photos on our camera, but all I took on my phone was the following.

We were so tired after walking (what felt like) all over Barcelona. So, we went back to the hotel for a 1.5 hour nap. Then we got up in time to enjoy the executive lounge for a bit (:-D) followed by our evening out. We had looked up a nice place to have dinner several weeks before we left and had decided upon Comerç 24. It worried us a little bit when we asked the concierge at our hotel to confirm our reservation and he had not heard of the restaurant. It also worried us when the cab driver did not know it either. And it didn't help that when we arrived at the restaurant, it looked like it wasn't there... Well, we must say that it was hands down the best meal of our lives. We both feel that we would go back to Barcelona just to have dinner there again. It was a tapas restaurant and we chose the option where they brought out what seemed like more than 10 tapas out. We wrote down what we ate as soon as we got back to the hotel. I will create an addendum to this post as soon as I find it.

The following day we walked around a bit more, endlessly looking for free internet (I don't think that it exists). We walked down to the palace and the convention center. I think that we were anxious to get on the cruise ship, so we ended up heading there around noon. I certainly had no idea what to expect and no time to think about it prior to our embarkation. For those of you who are unaware, we were on the Azamara Quest. It was a very nice ship and not too big which many other guests were quick to point out as a nice advantage. We quickly explored and got excited for dinner! Off to Monaco!

Jealous of your Barcelona weather - the Sagrada Familia picture is awesome. When we were there it was cloudy and rainy... Can't wait to read more!!!
