So, we skipped days 3 and 4 because we didn't have much to show for it. Day 3 consisted of having our stairs to the basement removed and on day 4 the new stairs were partially built. Since these stairs are purely functional, a picture of the final product will suffice. We are including a lot of pictures with day 5, however, the stairs are not done... (basement stairs are, though!)
Basement:
The main stairs are beginning to take shape! Hardwood has been placed on all of the steps but the two top ones and also on the landing. Just a couple of strips have been placed in the upstairs hallway.
The last two stairs were not ready when the contractor picked up the rest, so he will pick them up on Monday. He will also finish the upstairs hall, add some trim, and place the baseboard...
