It was a wonderful birthday weekend in New York. After having spent the past couple of birthdays basically by myself, this one couldn't have been better. We drove up to NY to visit our good friends Mrs. and Mr. K and Little K! We heard that Little K loves dogs so we were interested in seeing their interaction. Luke enjoyed giving Little K kisses, but not so much when he was being chased. :) Luke and Little K must of had numerous sleepy days after our visit because they were pretty active!
We began Saturday by eating at a diner for breakfast in the K's hood. It was delicious and just what we needed for the long day ahead. After relaxing for a little bit, we headed out to Cold Spring Harbor. We got the tour of the area and all the beautiful homes. Then we walked around town a bit popping into a few stores. We relaxed in a restaurant where it couldn't have been more perfect: open windows, brie, and wine. When we got back to the house, Biscuit, Little K and I all passed out.
That night we went out for a birthday dinner at Brasserie Cassis. What a fabulous restaurant! While we waited at the bar, we discovered that instead of bar nuts, they had a huge wheel of parmesan and a dish of olives. We sat down for our meal and received bread and butter and pate! That sealed the deal... this was the restaurant for us! After we got home, I was surprised by an ice cream cake with candles! What a fabulous birthday!
Sunday couldn't have been more perfect. Mrs. K, Little K, Luke, and I relaxed all morning while Biscuit and Mr. K played softball. Then Mrs. K and I went out to pick up NY bagels. The line was ridiculously long and I noted that everybody in the bagel place looked like a NYer. Hard to describe, but they did. The bagels were delicious and we even tried a cream cheese called Sclox (scallions and lox). The rest of the day was spent in the K's backyard with Little K and Luke in the baby pool. Biscuit and Luke played football too. It was a beautiful, relaxing day with great friends. It could not have been better.
